The Knife and Fork - Table Manners Class, Holly Academy 5th Grade

Each year the 5th grade students from Holly Academy (Holly, MI) travel to The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan for their School trip. It is an amazing opportunity for these children as it is a step back in the past. The Island is motor vehicle free. Horses, bicycles and feet are the only modes of transportation allowed. The Grand Hotel holds to old formal standards especially in their dinning room. I help to prepare the students for what they will experience so they feel comfortable in this environment. This is the third year I have taught the class. The feedback I get from the students, their parents, the school teachers, The Grand Hotel and guests from the hotel is always positive and very rewarding for me as I feel I am helping to make a difference in these children's lives.
